Hello everybody and welcome to the second installment of What’s New in Blu. Today is June 23rd, 2015 and I’ve got a sinus infection. My nose is leaking like a faucet, does anyone know what the best medication for a sinus infection is? This blowing my nose every five minutes has to stop. Like I’m pretty sure I’ve used half a box of tissues in one day. I kind of wish I didn’t have a nose. Then I wouldn’t be sick and I could do a pretty spot on Voldemort cosplay. Was I writing this for a reason? Click through to read more and find out if I can keep this article on track.
Now I don’t have the time or money to buy/rent every movie that gets released so this show will be mostly opinion based. While I typically have a release I want to pick up almost every week, some weeks I won’t have anything. That could mean we get an episode like this week. Where I make a quick list of releases I think are popular enough to mention, but nothing I’ve seen or am excited to see. Or we’ll have weeks like next week where there just isn’t really anything to fill a show with (Sorry, I’m not making an episode where the only major release is Get Hard. I don’t know who thought putting Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart in the same movie was a good idea.).
Anyway, on to this weeks releases!
Coming out this week:
We also get The Fisher King and The Bridge get added to the Criterion collection. Shout Factory releases the Collector's Edition of Dog Soldiers.
That’s it for releases, but great news everyone! You read that in Professor Farnsworth’s voice, also I have some blu-ray news. Criterion recently released the full list of September releases. Look forward to adding Blind Chance, Mister Johnson, Breaker Morant, The Honeymoon Killers, A Room With a View, and Moonrise Kingdom to your collection. The last of which I am most excited for since I plan on buying Anderson’s previous criterion releases during the half off Criterion sale in July, which I now realise I forgot to talk about in the video. Starting July 7th Barnes and Noble will be selling all Criterion releases at 50% off (woo!) through pretty much all of July!
In other news Mondo has announced number 010 in the Mondo x Steelbook line of blu-rays! On July 14th alongside the standard release of Ex Machina, Best Buy Canada customers will be able to get the limited steelbook featuring art from Mondo. This was one of my favorite movies of the year and I’m very excited to see this added to the line up. I’m also glad that the movie is being put out on it’s release date instead of some time after so I don’t have to double dip (meaning owning two copies of the same movie, usually because a special edition gets released months or years later). Ex Machina joins Drive, Looper, Boyhood, Rambo: First Blood, Pan’s Labyrinth, Dredd, Flash Gordon, Shaun of the Dead, John Carpenter’s The Thing, and Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
That’s it for this week! If you haven’t already subscribe to GameShell and go like our videos, especially this week's What’s New in Blu. Happy Blusday!
